Art and Design
The Arts Strand is the creative hub of the school; We have a fantastic team who strive for excellence with specialisms in Painting, Sculpture and Interactive Media. Our dynamic open plan studio space allows students to collaborate and work together, we share ideas and support learning, through peer assessment, tutorials and critiques. The department is a well-resourced area with facilities for working in Fine Art, Sculpture, Textiles, Digital Media and Art is one of the most popular options with students at GCSE.

What is Art and Design all about?
It’s about having an adventurous and enquiring approach to art and design and developing the skills to express it. You will develop an understanding of past and contemporary art and design and be able to produce a personal response embracing a range of ideas.
The skills you will develop doing GCSE Art will be varied.
