Year 7 complete their first football fixture 19/09/2012
Y7s lost 6-2 to a very strong Little Lever team, who showed a great deal of experience and ability. I was proud of the way they stuck to the task and didn't stop trying their best right up until the final whistle. I shan't name names as it was
a team performance where everyone showed great enthusiasm, determination and tenacity. If anyone is searching for
an example of teamwork, they should look no further than the boys who represented us all last night, should be congratulated and highlighted. It is always a pleasure to take students like this to represent the academy for the way
they conduct and manner themselves.

Year 7 Football- Ladybridge High School 2-2 Essa Academy 29/02/12
Our year 7 football team put in a much improved performance against a strong Ladybridge outfit. Essa started strongly and were rewarded when Adil Patel beat the Ladybridge goalkeeper with a powerful shot to the left.
Essa continued to press with Liam Davies and Zuhair Solicitor finding excellent positions on the edges, and centre backs Nasar Hodson and Enes Yildiz successfully breaking up the Ladybridge attack. However we were unable to turn this pressure into goals, and just before half time, Ladybridge caught Essa on the counter attack and levelled the game at 1-1.

However we were unable to turn this pressure into goals, and just before half time, Ladybridge caught Essa on the counter attack and levelled the game at 1-1.
It was much of the same in the second half as, with midfielders Hamzah Umar, Kaif Khan and Tawqeer Subhani to the fore, Essa dominated possession and territory. Essa continued to create chances but were unable to capitalise until, after good work from Davies, Patel finished from close range to make
it 2-1.
Essa were denied their first victory in the closing stages. Ladybridge poured forward and were able to clinch the
equaliser against the run of play with minutes to spare.
