Rivington School Direct
School Direct is an initiative that allows trainees to train across an excellent alliance of schools, and trainees will have a greater opportunity to develop much closer links with those schools during and after their training. It also gives them a high probability of success in achieving their first teaching post.
Rivington School Direct is a partnership of twelve secondary schools in Bolton and one North West University supported by primary and secondary special schools and the Bolton Pupil Referral Service to deliver Initial Teacher Training
The subjects we are offering for 2017-2018 are Mahematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German), History, Geography, Religious Studies, Drama, Computer Science, Art & Design, Business Studies, Design Technology, physical Education, Social Sciences & Music. Trainees will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of alternative school settings, follow a unique Foundation Leadership course and gain a PGCE with Masters Accreditation through the Manchester Metropolitan University (which has been graded as Outstanding for all areas of initial Teacher Training).
