This week ESSA are celebrating Autism Awareness across academy. Students have had lots of fun by organising and engaging in fundraising events! We are raising money for the National Autistic Society and also to help towards the cost of equipment for our own sensory room.
We embrace difference!
Tuesday 14th March saw eight of our year 11 students get selected to represent both Essa and Manchester United FC at the Manchester v Seville football match at Old Trafford. It was a fantastic experience for these students who were awarded this in recognition of their attitude to learning and attendance.
Important messages from the Principal, extensive reports given, conversations with subject teachers and lots of providers on hand to discuss next steps.
Monday 5th March was Essa Academy’s World Book Day 2018. It was great to see so many members of staff dressed up, and so many students engaging with the day. I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all who participated, particularly to Maths as Peter Pan, who won the faculty prize, and to Sarah Bennet and Charlotte Harwood for their fantastic Alice in Wonderland themed costumes who won the individual staff prize.
