What do I study in Religious Studies @ Essa?

Picture
During your study of Religious Studies, you will study 1 year of Christian ethics and another year of Islam.

During the Christian ethics module we will look at Life and Death issues, "ultimate questions" in relation to our personal and community life and our responsibilities. We  discuss how people make decisions about topics such as medical ethics such as abortion and euthanasia, the environment and crime and punishment.

The Islam module covers the 5 pillars as well as the foundation and establishment of the religion. We study how Islam is practised and the variations in different parts of the world. In addition, we will also look at the different roles of men and women, as individuals and in the community, in worship and family life.

If you have any questions concerning Religious Studies, please use the form below to contact
the RS teacher, Mrs L Booker.
