Initial Teacher Training

Essa Academy offers a range of Initial Teacher Training opportunities working in partnership with The Alliance for Learning, Teach First, Rivington School Direct, Turton School Direct, Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of Manchester, and Liverpool John Moores University. Essa Academy has an excellent record of securing employment into teaching at either the Academy itself, other partnership schools and schools outside the partnership.

Teach First

‘We find, train and support people to become brilliant teachers, inspiring the young people who need them the most’. Click the logo (below) for more information.

Rivington School Direct

School Direct is an initiative that allows trainees to train across an excellent alliance of schools, and trainees will have a greater opportunity to develop much closer links with those schools during and after their training.  It also gives them a high probability of success in achieving their first teaching post.

Rivington School Direct is a partnership of twelve secondary schools in Bolton and one North West University supported by primary and secondary special schools and the Bolton Pupil Referral Service to deliver Initial Teacher Training.
